La Résie St-Martin is a small village of 160 inhabitants. In the past, iron was extracted from the ground and transported to the Forges de Pesmes (the Smithy of Pesmes), which has now been transformed into a beautiful museum.
The la Résie stream springs in La Résie St-Martin and flows through the beautiful pillared village fountain, formerly used to wash clothes in.
The stream then feeds the village pond, which you can fish, or stroll around, or stop off at whilst mountain biking in the surrounding area.
For anglers you will be able to buy a card for one day for 2€ or for the week for 5€ in our guest house. The stream continues into the village of La Grande Résie, situated between Pesmes and Gray.
To avoid confusion between La Grande Résie and La Résie St-Martin, our village is often nicknamed “La petite Résie” (the “little” Résie). We chose the name of our guest house to reflect this anecdote.
